June 14, 2009 - Cincinnati, OH - Saint Andrew Rowing Club was one of two rowing clubs in Georgia who qualified to compete in the 2009 US Rowing Youth National Championship held June 12-14 at Harsha Lake outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. This prestigious competition boasted 144 rowing clubs who traveled from across the nation to vie for a national ranking in their particular event(s).
The Saint Andrew entries were the Women’s Lightweight 8+, Men’s Lightweight 8+ and Men’s 2-. Under the tutelage of Head Coach Dan McNair, supported by women’s Coaches Kristen Talbot and Erica Mullaney, and men’s Coaches Peter Zakshevsky and Joe Cerniglia, the two lightweight boats rowed through both heats and semifinals to compete in the petite finals on Sunday. The men’s lightweight crew also faced fierce opposition, where they succeeded in placing 11th in the nation. The men’s pair, which was a new addition to the championship competition, won the C-Final and placed a respectable 13th in the nation.
The Women’s team members, moving from stern to bow, are the coxswain Adam Holt, then Maddy Razzolini, Adrian Edmonds, Virginia Gilchrist, Hayley Tanasijevich, Helen Seely, Veronica Jones, Laura Kish and Jennifer Kish. The alternate member is Brianna Reddeman.
