Novice & Varsity Squads

These programs are for you if you are interested in learning and/or improving your rowing skills and rigorous conditioning, training for competition. Eligible athletes are 9th-12th grade boys and girls (some exceptions will be made for 8th graders).  These squads are for both new (no experience necessary for Novice athletes) and returning SARC athletes. Advanced Sculling is integrated into this program, providing an opportunity to train and compete in both disciplines. 

Practice begins for Novice and Varsity squads on August 15th from 4:30 - 7:00 PM.

  • Varsity Women – Monday through Saturday
  • Varsity Men – Monday through Saturday
  • Novice Women – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
  • Novice Men – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Saturday practices times men 7:00am – 10:00am, women 7:30am – 10:30am

 

Attendance Requirement - attend at least 90% of scheduled workouts.

Spring Season Fee includes all travel and lodging as necessary at all races, with the exception of the Cincinnati High School Invitational.  After a one week trial, refunds only made for medical exceptions per board approval.  The Spring 2017 fees for these squads are $1400.00.

 

Community Service Attendance

Each season our athletes are required to participate in at least one community service project. Details TBA.
