Looking for a way to stay active this winter?

Saint Andrew Rowing Club is offering a Free 2-Day Winter Clinic for boys and girls in middle school.  This 2-day clinic offers an opportunity to learn the basics of physical conditioning, participate in agility activities and games, and learn the fundamentals of rowing.

Our winter clinic is taught by Coach Debbie Parker who rowed on the U.S. national team in the late 1980s.  Coach Debbie is the Head Coach of our Intro Program and has been working to develop our youth program for decades.  She will be assisted by a few of our top rowers who are excited to share their love of year-round training and rowing.

We try to make sure they are having fun.  We want to teach them about exercise and training.  But we also want them to get along, respect each other, and respect the coaches. Even when they don’t get out on the water, we want them to get used to working together as a team. It is such an invaluable life lesson that will stay with them forever.

 ~ Coach Debbie Parker

Did you know that physical activity improves problem-solving skills, literacy scores, and performance on memorization tasks?

There is so much research supporting the idea that students need more physical activity and, according to the CDC, physical activity can have a significant impact on a child’s cognitive skills. So don’t forget to keep your child moving this Winter.

St. Andrew Rowing Club is committed to providing a fun and challenging experience for all students who have an interest in health and the sport of rowing. SA promotes the development of character, a commitment to training, a focus on the excitement of competition with an emphasis on the importance of teamwork.

We embrace the responsibility of teaching not just sports, but life lessons to further develop our athletes growth both in sports and throughout their academic development.

We believe that all rowers should be afforded an equal opportunity to explore their potential and participate in challenging circumstances that will yield positive outcomes. We are committed to making rowing a challenging, safe and rewarding experience for everyone involved. Through quality coaching, sound leadership and absolute sincerity, SA works to be the best rowing club in the Atlanta area for Middle School and High School students

This Middle School Clinic is for any 6th through 8th grader who wishes to learn about fitness and conditioning, who wants to experience a new sport, or who simply wants to learn more about the sport of rowing and the opportunities it affords for High School and College students.
