WOMEN'S VARSITY 4+ - NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! US Rowing Youth Nationals, running June 6th-9th, was a historic week for St. Andrew Rowing Club out of Roswell, Georgia. Taking the team's largest roster ever (62 athletes and 12 boats), SA Rowing continued upon the dominance that was performed at Southeast Regionals in May.
Three crews brought home medals, including a first ever national championship win in the Women's Youth 4+! This week was a perfect ending to a terrific 2023-2024 year. We are so proud of all of our athletes and wish our graduating seniors all the best on their next adventures!
May 11-12, 2024: SA competed at the Southeast Youth Regional Championship in Sarasota, FL. It was a historic day for the club, handing out 48 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 25 bronze medals. 13 Crews qualified for the USRowing Youth National Championship. Additionally, SA Women won the Women's Overall Points Trophy for the third year in a row!
SA is looking forward to taking its largest squad EVER to Nationals this year and is proud of ALL of the athletes that trained and competed this season.
2023 US Rowing National Championships!

Wow! What a showing for St. Andrew Rowing Club (SA) at the USRowing Youth National 2023 Championships in Sarasota, FL this year with some of our programs best results ever! This regatta brings in the best of the best from all over the country, SA was a top qualifier from the Southeast Region. All teams must qualify by participating in the area youth regional championships which took place in May. The SA Women’s team walked away from Regionals with the Points Trophy for the 2nd year in a row, securing their place as the SE Regionals championship winners. This year’s National competition had several hundred youth rowing clubs from all over the United States participate with upwards of 4000 athletes competing.
♦SA sent 22 female and 17 male athletes this year, 14 of the Women’s team qualified for A finals and all races resulted in a medal. Our U16 Women’s 8+ made program history by being our first 8+ ever to reach the podium with a silver medal. The programs U17 Women’s 8+ won the petite final on Saturday, finished up placing 9th in the nation. Our Women’s V4+ finished with a 3rd place Bronze medal and our Women’s Varsity 8+ raced against some of the fastest competition from all over the US finishing up placing 20th in the nation.
♦SA’s Men’s team came home with three top 20 finishes this year! This is a great accomplishment for our head Men’s coach, Walker Ferris. Within the past year, SA’s Men’s team has grown in size and qualified for Nationals! Our Men’s U16 8+ came away with a 15th place finish, the Men’s V4- finished up 17th and our Men’s U174+ finished up 19th, all top 20 nationally ranked boats! Great things are happening for the SA Men’s team and even more to look forward to as this young men’s team look forward to more racing with Walker’s guidance.
2022 US Rowing National Championships!

St. Andrew Rowing Club has accomplished club history this season! SA participated in the 2022 US Rowing Youth National Championships June 9-12th in Sarasota, FL. This regatta brings in the best of the best from all over the country, SA was a top qualifier from the Southeast Region. All teams must qualify by participating in the area youth regional championships. Over 3,500 rowers participate from 210 clubs nationwide in as many as 43 events over the 4 day schedule. This year SA entered several boats for the Women's team. Both the 1V8+ and the 2V8+, a V2- and both the 4V+ and the U174+ qualified to participate.
The athletes came prepared to do time trials on Thursday. This determines placement on Friday through Sunday. All of SA’s boats qualified for the A/B Finals on Sunday, racing the fastest youth clubs in the nation. Our first and second Varsity 8+ both had the best performance in team history!
SA is so very excited for our athletes and all they have accomplished this season!
